Happy Valentines Day!

Nothing goes together better than Strawberries and Cream - my new cake design for Valentines Day!

This cake features a hand painted design of Strawberries and Strawberry blossoms on a pale pink background. I was kindly gifted some ‘Baby Pink’ THE SUGARPASTE from THE CAKE DECORATING COMPANY before Christmas and thought it would be absolutely perfect for this cake design! If you haven’t used ‘THE SUGARPASTE’ yet I can thoroughly recommend it - it covers my super tall cake tiers like a dream!

The cake also features some hand crafted modelling chocolate strawberries - painted with cocoa butter paint to look like the real thing! I was sent ‘THE CHOCOLATE BAR’ from ‘LIFE IN SUGAR’ to have a play with and, because I don’t often make 3D models, thought I would start small with some little strawberries! It is lovely to work with - moulds beautifully with the heat of your fingers and sets super hard as soon as it cools - and because it is completely natural it tastes delicious too!!
