Cake International - On Tour - The ExCel Centre, London 2019
I was really honoured to be asked to demo on stage and teach a full day workshop at this years Cake International on tour in London - sister show to the bigger Cake International at the NEC in November.
The 3 day cake extravaganza kicked off with me demoing live on stage under the attentive eye of the lovely Paul Bradford from Cakeflix. I demoed my method of achieving the perfect chocolate ganache base to paint on - after admitting to him that I learnt how to make chocolate ganache many years ago by watching his You Tube videos. I then painted some of my signature flowers to give the audience an insight into working with cocoa butter paint and how easy it is to use!
On the Friday I spent the day teaching a cocoa butter painting workshop to a group of 10 students who had all pre-booked during the lead up to the show. We worked together step by step to create an exclusive design especially for Cake International featuring my signature roses, blue viburnum berries and a super pretty butterfly! My students all did wonderfully and should be so proud of their achievements after a long day of concentrating!
If you have never been to Cake International I can highly recommend a visit! The show at the NEC in November will be the biggest yet with so many opportunities to meet you cake heroes, buy new cake products, see demos and workshops and of course enter their coveted competitions!
