Thank you so much to Nikki and Dale for sharing their wonderful wedding video with me featuring their hand painted wedding cake and edible teacups – decorated to fit their winter theme with plum coloured roses and pinecones. The wedding venue was at Prussia Cove here in Cornwall and was just perfect for this relaxed, fun, winter celebration!
As you already know that I had the pleasure of being invited exhibit my work in the designer wedding cakes showroom in the Squires Kitchen 30th Anniversary show. After weeks of preparing my show cakes and a rather ‘careful’ drive from Cornwall to Surrey the time had come! I was a little nervous as it was my first time there and it is rather daunting exhibiting your work next to other wonderful cakey people who I have looked up to over the years, but I need not have worried as everyone was lovely and very welcoming! I was very honoured to be asked to create a 21st birthday cake for the lovely Jonathan Antoine (The amazing Opera singer from Britain’s Got Talent fame!)
Whilst touring he willingly gave his time to perform at a charity gala, raising money for, and promoting the work of Emmaus – A very worthwhile charity empowering homeless (more…)
I am delighted to have been invited by Squires Kitchen to exhibit my work in the wedding cakes showroom at their 30th Anniversary show from the 11th-13th of March… if you love all things cake related this is the perfect opportunity to come and meet your cakey heroes, get inspired by the fabulous work on show or take part in one of the many internationally renowned classes going on over the weekend – for more details have a look at their website here.
I am absolutely over the moon to have been commissioned by Cakes and Sugarcraft magazine to create a hand painted cake tutorial for their Feb/March Issue. After completing the initial sketches for the editor and signing all the paperwork I hot footed it to their Surrey headquarters where I had my cake professionally photographed for the magazine, along with lots of hand shots of me working my cakey magic to illustrate the written tutorial – it was such a wonderful experience and I am delighted with the results in print! Absolutely loved our wedding cake!! Emily really listened to our ideas and brought them to life in our gorgeous three tiered cake extravaganza! All of our guests loved the cake and it was a real focal point of the day. The tea cups with tags were a lovely additional extra to give to our mothers and bridesmaids. Emily is AMAZING!!

Absolutely loved our wedding cake and cake pops! Thank you so much. Not just beautifully decorated, but all so yummy as well! The cake pops were a highlight for all our guests! Thank you again for capturing exactly what we wanted! We would undoubtedly recommend Emily’s cakes!

Emily was amazing right from our first discussions all the way to the end. She manages to project your thoughts into real life which for someone like me who knows what I like but can’t quite describe it, is quite amazing!! Emily discussed options with us and gave us some ideas which really helped with the planning. When we saw the cake on the day we were blown away, it was perfect from top to bottom. We had 4 tiers with a stunning blue floral and some classic ruffles. We also had individual cake pops for place setting for all our guests. The cake was the talk of the reception everyone loved it and it really was a centre piece and to taste it….Wow! I’m still enjoying the remaining fruit cake..and I’m not sharing it!
Thank you Emily. Mr & Mrs Clay
As I know I have mentioned (Shouted about!) before I have been very honoured to have some of my work featured in the nationally renowned ‘Wedding Cakes’ Magazine over the past few months. A little while ago I was delighted to be contacted by them directly and asked to do an interview about me and my business! I am delighted to say (more…)
