As you already know that I had the pleasure of being invited exhibit my work in the designer wedding cakes showroom in the Squires Kitchen 30th Anniversary show. After weeks of preparing my show cakes and a rather ‘careful’ drive from Cornwall to Surrey the time had come! I was a little nervous as it was my first time there and it is rather daunting exhibiting your work next to other wonderful cakey people who I have looked up to over the years, but I need not have worried as everyone was lovely and very welcoming!
The Show was fab – lots of inspiration work and exciting new products to try. The lines of people waiting outside at the beginning of the day was amazing – the first 100 got a coveted goody bag! There were many classes and demos over the 3 days with familiar faces from Squires International School, I particularly enjoyed making wafer paper flowers! I spent most of the 3 days with my cakes chatting to visitors about my work – It was really lovely to hear all of their positive comments and have the chance to chat with them in person and tell them a little bit about me and how I create my signature work. I can’t wait to attend again next year and have already had lots of ideas for my showcake designs!!
