I was very lucky to be asked by Jo and Tom to decorate thier wedding cake. The fruit cake itself was deliciously baked by Jos mum (and smelt divine coincidentally!) and I was requested to decorate it to fit with the vintage/shabby chic theme of the day.
The wedding reception took place in a marquee set atop a cliff at Trevose Head near Padstow… and what a stunning location it was! The glorious weather made it all the more spectacular! I decorated the 4 tier fruit cake with a generous layer of marzipan finished with combed royal icing, tinted vintage cream to fit with the theme of the day. The beautiful fresh flowers that adorn the centre of the cake were provided by George Mackay who is based in Falmouth.
Jo also asked me to provide 120 hand made French macaroons in pastel shades to decorate her dessert table, I was really pleased with how pretty they looked displayed in the large glass vases Jo provided.
As you can see from the beautiful pictures taken by Marianne Taylor, the bride and groom looked stunning and I hope they had a truly magical day…
