I have finally managed to arrange my facial muscles back into some shape of normality after a super fun day of meeting new people and constantly smiling at the brilliant WED magazine show at Headlands Hotel in Newquay. As this was my first big wedding show I was rather unsure of what to expect… would I need to take a book for the quiet times or vast quantities of promotional material to desperately thrust in the face of the general public to get their attention? Fortunately I was most pleasantly surprised!

After a slightly nerve wracking drive to Newquay with my hand painted cake creations, my friend Matt and I arrived at the Headland Hotel – an iconic hotel positioned on the cliffs above Fistral beach. After setting up my cakes on my table – styled with vintage cake stands and vintage artist materials, we managed a quick coffee before the doors opened and the people flooded in. I must admit from there on in it was a bit of a blur… I met so many lovely couples and suppliers and received so many complimentary comments about my work!

My completely edible, hand painted tea cups and saucers were definitely my most popular item on the day, receiving quite a lot of attention! The blue ditsy floral cake I created was also a favourite as well as the little cake pops with the cameo rose bud on the front!

It was a lot of work preparing for the show but it was definitely worth the effort! I cant wait until the next one!
