I was so excited to be commissioned to create the wedding cake for two wonderful people at Rosteague, near St Mawes in Cornwall.

To reflect the feel of the day I designed a wedding cake inspired by the country garden vintage feel that the couple were going for.

I created a centrepiece for their beautifully decorated marquee of 110 individual and completely edible teacups hand painted to imitate vintage china, with a small, fruit cutting cake on the top.
Half of the cakes were filled with homemade lemon sponge and duchy originals lemon curd, and the other half Raspberry and vanilla sponge with raspberry conserve and white chocolate buttercream.

The cake was a huge talking point on the day, and I received many lovely comments from the guests. The catering staff were even having trouble working out which cups and saucers on the tables were the china ones and which were cake!
